Pokemon Go director says that players will not be sold, and there are no interventional ads
Earlier this month, the Saudi mobile phone developer owned by Saudi phones confirmed that he was buying the Niantic games section, the developer behind Pokemon Go and other mobile games. It was a $ 3.5 billion deal, and one of the largest games purchases in history. But for any of the fans who are concerned about imposing some unwanted changes on Pokemon Go, the game director, Michael Stiraka, wants to assure them that this will not be.
During his conversation with Polygon, Steranka indicated that he had spent months speaking with Scopely, and was associated that they did not want to shake the Pokemon Go boat. For example, he pointed out that Stiraka will not turn the game from a free play model, or compels the ads that are intrusive in the experiment.
“(Intrusive ads) do not happen in Pokemon, not now, it is never,” said Stiraka. “Once again, Scopely really realizes how unique this game, and tell us themselves that they will be foolish to try to change the recipe that made this huge success and success. So yes, certainly no. We will not build in our games any kind of hateful ads or anything like that. This is not something we feel will be suitable for Pokemon Go.”
Regarding the player's data, Steranka repeated that the company does not sell this to third parties, and has provided guarantees that it will not change this policy now or in the future. He also emphasized that Niantic's personal events, including Pokemon Go Fest, will continue. Steraka went on to explain that Scopely is very interested in examining the reason for the appearance of Pokemon Go, and he wants to integrate some lessons from this into their own games.
In the near future, Steranka indicated that he is currently planning to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Pokemon Go, which will arrive in 2026.
“We have been planning for this for a long time, so I really want to make sure that next year is a festive moment as possible for Pokemon goes,” said Stiraka. “As you know, it is also a 30 -year anniversary of Pokemon as a brand. So I think next year as a Pokemon fan, you will have the best year ever.”
Fans will not have to wait a long time in the following Pokemon game on Switch. Pokemon Legends ZA will arrive later this year, and Nintendo recently unveiled a few of the beginning of Pokemon.
