See first to 5 new cards from Tarkir: Dragonstorm, Magic: The Gathering's Next Set

Three -colored collections are not made much, can you talk about some of the challenges you face and how you tried to address those in Dragonstorm?

AP: Depending on their nature, the three -colored cards go to a fewer floors than their monochrome counterparts (or two colors). It is often exciting, as long as it is not affected.

The construction of a sealed environment/draft of the biggest challenge – which allows easily the formats built in three colors, so it is not very difficult to find three colored cards to find a house. On the other hand, we have to provide enough Mana repair to allow players to operate the three color cards, without making it so abundant that each surface can operate all five colors easily.

We wanted to combine the dragon and clans in a way that was not seen on Tarkir in the same group, and the dragon storms, which was a distinctive feature of the plane, played a big role in shaping how we dealt with this “return to”. The pressure to obtain it correctly was something Lauren and felt from the first day, we always wanted to build the next chapter of this beloved plane with originality and material.

Finally, while it was previously revealed, I must ask about it Descendant – A card mocking from Storm scale itself! People have enjoyed a lot to talk about this card and the unexpected storm's return to the standard, was this a difficult decision? Is there some tempting challenge to return to “risky” mechanics such as this, rapprochement or Mana Ferxy in recent years?

AP: I find that making new cards for existing mechanics is often easier than making new mechanics. With existing mechanics, we can learn some lessons about what has succeeded well and what shots should be avoided. With the storm's descendant, we found that the card is fun and strong even with a few copies, so we descended to that instead of some other storm cards that win you in the game, but only if you threw a lot of talismans.
