Monster Hunter Wilds’ next hotfix should sort out the floating rubble tactical nuke, which allows you to drop infinite boulders on a monster’s head, and trivialises even end-game hunts
Monster Hunter Wilds is getting another hotfix patch on March 10, aimed at fixing a selection of known bugs. One of these is an absolute scorcher, the ability to cause a seemingly infinite number of rocks, walls, and other heavy things to crash down on monsters.
For those who haven’t seen this bug in action, here’s how it works. All across Wilds, there are environmental hazards that players can grapple down on top of monsters for big damage. Somehow, certain hazards when dropped continued to drop over and over again. As such, if a monster is in the right place at the right time, you can slam rocks into them on repeat, killing them outright. It’s pretty hilarious, though obviously not how Capcom intends you to hunt.
You can see a video of this bug below, but it’s safe to say it’s a pretty gnarly one. Personally speaking, it was only last night when I and three other players managed to accidentally trigger this boss in the Cliffs while taking down a Tempered Arkveld.
That’s the hardest fight currently in the game, from what I can tell, wiped out by a cavaclade of debris.

This hotfix is coming on March 10, so you still might get a chance to see it in action if you’re quick about it! Other fixes are coming too which are worth mentioning, including meal invitations at Azuz and Sild occuring when they should, Gravious gaining flinch resistance when parts are broken, and a fix to that nasty progression blocker in Chapter 5-1. So a great patch all in all, except for those who liked taking out monsters with the in-universe equivalent to an orbital strike.
Take a look at the hotfix’s page and let us know what you think of it. While you’re at it, let us know if you’ve seen this bug in person before down below!
